HVS Leak Detection provides leak testing services in shop or on-site for a wide range of customer needs.   We can quickly locate even the smallest leaks in any pressure system, vacuum system or hermetic system.  We have experience with helium leak testing and hydrogen leak testing across a wide range of industries and applications.

Helium Leak Testing

There are two methods used to quickly and effectively find leaks: sniff testing and spray testing.    With on-site sniff testing we can pressurize your pipework or component with helium.  If there are any leaks, helium will escape through these paths into the atmosphere.  Using a portable leak detector we can Sniff test each weld and joint within an assembled component of a pressurized system to check for a leak.

With spray testing, we can test to a higher specification than with sniff testing.  We can evacuate your component or pipework using a portable vacuum pump and link it to a helium leak detector.  Once an acceptable vacuum level has been reched, helium can be sprayed outside of the component to check for leaks.  We can spray helium on joints and if a leak is present at that site, the helium will be drawn into the pipe or component by the vacuum and sensed by the leak detector.  

Helium Leak Testing Power Plants

We provide on-site Helium Leak Testing in power plants as a safe and effective means of testing for leaks in steam turbines, condensers, heat exchangers, condenser tubes, buried pipelines and underground pipes in the power generation industry.   We can test for condenser air inleakage and condenser tube leaks utilizing helium mass spectrometer leak detectors.

Our on-site Helium Leak Testing for the oil & gas industry can locate leaks in gas distribution lines, underground tanks, above ground tanks, storage tanks, gas cabinets and any components that store or transport gas.  

Helium Leak Testing University and R & D Labs
