Hydrogen "Sniffer" Leak Detectors
The Hydrogen Leak Detection method is an established industrial leak testing method. Hydrogen is an excellent tracer gas technique because it requires no vacuum and it is an inexpensive tracer gas. The gas mix used is a safe mixture of 5% Hydrogen and 95% Nitrogen. This mix is a Green Label Gas that is non-flammable. Hydrogen is the lightest and least viscous of all gases, and spreads very quickly thoughout the test object. It seeps quickly through the smallest leaks.
We use the H2000 Plus--now Inficon--for hydrogen leak testing that starts reading at 1 ppm. It is also available as a leak detector rental. Also Available for sale/rent is a Hand Held Hydrogen Detector that starts detecting at 20 ppm.
